Proto Financial is a powerful tool for addressing many of the data analysis, management, and reporting needs of financial professionals. Proto comes in two varieties:
- Proto Financial includes the complete suite of tools for building and editing modules.
- Proto Financial Viewer Edition runs modules built in the full Proto Financial.
What’s New In This Version
One-click downloads: spreadsheets and ProtoDBs can be included in exported module files. Web gallery modules that use these additional resources download and work without any configuration.
Module previews: the “Open” window includes a preview screenshot of each module in the repository. The same screenshots are displayed automatically when a module is uploaded to the web gallery.
Improved file loading feedback: a status window gives clear feedback while loading modules.
Consolidated error reporting: any errors that occur while using a module are displayed at the bottom of both the Builder and Viewer windows.
Connection drop warning: a warning is presented before performing any action that will result in removed module connections.
Support for non-standard DPI: Proto works correctly when Windows display properties are set to “Large size (120 DPI)”.
Extended text formatting: number formatting includes the ability to display percentages and various currencies.
More Viewer presentation flexibility: embedded custom modules can be presented without any border, and embedded custom modules with only one control act just like the control itself. Control labels can be hidden.
Execution feedback: an hourglass mouse pointer and status message at the bottom of the Viewer indicate when Proto is busy processing.
Excel range auto-sizing: Excel Reader can automatically size its target cell range to read from sheets with dynamic content.
Expanded Simple Report: Simple Report can process multiple attributes and group the results by multiple attributes giving it pivot table-like flexibility.
Optimizations: faster processing and smaller file sizes.

Contour Graph
Can auto-scale the Z-axis to fit incoming data.
Entryset Filter
Automatically disables and enables filters depending on whether the target attribute is available in the incoming data.
Entryset Sorter
Target attributes can be set via the module input menus.
Excel Reader
Includes an “Auto Grow” feature to automatically size the source cell range for sheets with dynamic content.
Formula
Includes three new functions: IsDate, IsNumber, and TRIMLEFT.
Pie Graph
Maintains color associations by label rather than by position.
Simple Report
Allows processing multiple attributes and grouping by multiple attributes for pivot table-like functionality.
XY Graph
Preserves its series color associations on save.
